Amazing Traditional Dutch Queal kruidnoten
"There’s still some time left until December, the month in which we Dutchies enjoy all kinds of speculaas-flavoured treats. But now it’s getting colder outside, we couldn’t resist baking these Queal kruidnoten and share them with you already."
Ingredients
SERVINGS 1- 130g of Queal Steady Smooth Vanilla Standard (or Vegan)
- 50ml water
- 2 tbsp of a sweetener of choice (e.g. honey, agava, sugar)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp of mixed cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove and cardamon
Preparation
- Mix Queal Steady, the baking powder and spices and whisk.
- Add the water and sweetener of choice, whisk again.
- Put the dough in an airtight bowl or cover it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
- Wet your hands and roll little balls out of the dough, place on a baking sheet.
- When you’ve used up all the dough, put the kruidnoten in the oven and bake for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Let cool and enjoy!
