Amazing Traditional Dutch Queal kruidnoten

"There’s still some time left until December, the month in which we Dutchies enjoy all kinds of speculaas-flavoured treats. But now it’s getting colder outside, we couldn’t resist baking these Queal kruidnoten and share them with you already."

  • 50ml water
  • 2 tbsp of a sweetener of choice (e.g. honey, agava, sugar)
  • 1 tsp baking soda

  2. Add the water and sweetener of choice, whisk again.
  3. Put the dough in an airtight bowl or cover it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 45 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
