Perfect Sunday Morning Pancakes

"Every time we're still amazed that it's so easy to make pancakes with Queal. This just adds another dimension to complete meals. "

Ingredients

SERVINGS 1
  • 150g Queal Steady Hazelnut Happiness Standard
  • 150ml water (measure accurately!)
  • 3 tbsp Nutella
  • Unsalted butter (or olive oil)

Optional

  • 1 tsp baking powder (for fluffier pancakes)
  • 1 egg (for fluffier pancakes)

Preparation

  1. Optional: Crack one egg in a mixing bowl and add baking powder (the recipe also works without these two, but is definitely improved by adding them).
  2. Add Queal and water. Mix until you have a smooth batter.
  3. Leave to stand for 15 minutes.
  4. Melt the butter (or a drizzle of oil) in a large non-stick frying pan on a medium heat, then tilt the pan so the butter coats the surface.
  5. Pour in 1 ladle of batter and tilt again, so that the batter spreads all over the base.
  6. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until golden underneath.
  7. Then flip the pancake over and cook for 1 further minute or until golden and cooked through.
  8. Serve with a tablespoon of Nutella.
  9. Enjoy!
